| Travel Quotes for those suffering of Wanderlust. |

So you’ve just came back from an adventure and you’re trying to readjust to the ‘normal life’. It’s great to see old friends, to  have your mum cook you all your favourite childhood foods and to just not do anything for a while.

But as days go by, you find yourself day-dreaming about where you were a week ago or about some not-so-funny joke one of your travelling buddies said one night by a campfire.

And sometimes it’s very hard to ignore that desire. The desire to go on the Road again. You try to fit in, to enjoy all the ‘homey’ things all your friends seem to be into, but at some point or another you crack. You start looking at the same travel websites, your read anything other fellow bloggers post and you follow the backpacking adventures of your friends compulsively.

Let’s face it: you are dealing with a case of Wanderlust. Nothing too crazy, just a desire to keep travelling and discovering new places and people to share experiences with.

Below I’ve wrote down some of my favourite travelling quotes. Because I know that once you start travelling, once wanderlust crips in your soul and you’ll never going to be the same. You’ll want to explore, to learn, to experience, to be free.

Wanderlust will change you in the most fabulous way: will kick you outside that comfort zone that you’ve built around yourself. Will make you want to live. And the best and worst part about that? That ‘normal life’ with a 9-5 job, drinks after work with friends and holiday planning will be the most depressing thing you’ll have to do.

I’ll leave them here. As an inspiration for your weekend. Take the step. Stay Young. Go Travelling.

The road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began

Now far ahead the road has gone,

And I must follow if I can;

Pursuing it with eager feet,

Until it joins some larger way

Where many paths and errands meet

And whiter then..? I cannot say.”

~J.R Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” ~ Mark Twain

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” ~ Ernest Hemingway

“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”
— Jack Kerouac (On the Road)

… and don’t expect any understanding; but believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke (Letters to a Young Poet)

“Now more than ever do I realize that I will never be content with a sedentary life, that I will always be haunted by thoughts of a sun-drenched elsewhere.”
— Isabelle Eberhardt (The Nomad: The Diaries of Isabelle Eberhardt)

“I can’t stand it to think my life is going by so fast and I’m not really living it.”

~ Ernest Hemingway

“Home is now behind you. The world is ahead.” ~Gandalf, LOTR

“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” ~Tony Robbins

“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travels’ sake. The great affair is to move.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

“Note to self: None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after-thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.” ~Nanea Hoffman

“Home is not where you are born; Home is where all your attempts to escape cease.”             ~ Naguib Mahfouz

“Travelling is still the most intense mode of learning.” ~Kevin Kelly

“Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me as is ever on the road.” ~ Jack Kerouac

I wish you the courage to follow your Dreams.

Peace & Love,
